May is a great time of the year to enjoy fresh fruit. Strawberries are at the peak of their season in many places and pairing them with chocolate is a match made in heaven. So how can you keep this great combination fairly healthy as well?

It's simple. Keeping the chocolate paired with light dairy means you get a great dose of calcium along with low fat and the great taste of chocolate. Using it as a dip for fresh fruit gives you an opportunity to increase the servings of fruit you get in a day as well. I love having strawberries with this, but pineapple, banana, peach and mango. If you want to use it as a topping, you can also pair it with smaller berries like blueberries, raspberries and cherries. For a fun change, consider choosing a different variety of pudding, such as white chocolate, coconut or French vanilla. As you change the base flavor, consider varying the fruits you serve with it as well. However you choose to enjoy it, this easy dip will become a staple in your dessert menu.

As always, I encourage you to share your recipe ideas and comments. You can always post comments using the forms provided in the articles or email me directly at . Enjoy!
